On September 2, the semi-finals of the 2019 Hunan Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition—focused on the New Materials industry—were officially launched at the High-Tech Headquarters in Zhuzhou High-Tech Zone. The event was jointly hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Department of Finance, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Cyberspace Administration, the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce. This year’s competition attracted a total of 3,668 enterprises and teams from more than 120 counties, cities, and districts across the province, as well as 49 higher education institutions. After rigorous preliminary rounds held in various cities and prefectures, 73 companies and 29 teams—from a total of 102 finalists—advanced to the semi-finals in the New Materials sector.

 

 

Grand Competition Launch Ceremony

On September 3, the competition concluded after a day filled with dynamic presentations, insightful questions, and thorough defenses. Hunan Kangrui Coatings' project, "Research and Application of a Weather-Resistant, Water-Based, Eco-Friendly Coating as an Alternative to Granite," stood out in Enterprise Growth Group 1, earning a score of 89.73 and securing second place within the group. As a result, the team has advanced to the national finals, where they will represent Hunan Province in the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is a nationwide event jointly guided by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. Held under the theme "Technological Innovation, Achieving Great Success," it is currently the most prestigious, largest-scale, highest-quality, and most influential innovation and entrepreneurship competition in China.
