On November 11, the 8th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition—Materials Science Industry Finals, jointly hosted by five ministries—the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce—was held in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

The Hunan Kangrui Coatings project, "A High-Weatherability, Water-Based, Eco-Friendly Coating That Replaces Granite," earned the title of "Outstanding Enterprise" after an on-site pitch and defense session. It is also the only company from Huaihua City this year to win an award in this competition.

The 8th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition attracted a total of 30,287 participating companies. After rigorous rounds of preliminary and semi-final competitions held across various cities and provinces, as well as the provincial semi-finals, more than 1,400 companies successfully advanced to the national finals. Among them, 193 firms competed in the new materials sector, with 82 of these companies earning recognition as outstanding enterprises. As a flagship event showcasing China's efforts to upgrade its innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, the competition has become the country's largest open innovation hub and its most robust platform for fostering entrepreneurial growth.
