Embarking on a New Chapter of Industry-University-Research-Application Collaboration—Kangrui Coatings Signs Joint Research Agreement with Hunan Normal University and Huaihua College

On January 13, Hunan Kangrui Coating Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a collaboration agreement on industry, academia, research, and application with Hunan Normal University and Huaihua College, marking a new chapter in university-enterprise cooperation within Huaihua's science and technology community.

Hunan Kangrui Coatings is the leading enterprise in the coatings industry in Huaihua City. Established in 2009, the company has been twice consecutively recognized by provincial authorities as a "Hunan Provincial Famous Brand Product," a "Hunan Provincial Well-known Trademark," a "National High-Tech Enterprise," and a "New Materials Enterprise."

In 2018, the company invested over ten million yuan to establish a 2,000-square-meter enterprise technology research center, which was recognized by the Huaihua Municipal Science and Technology Bureau as the "Huaihua City Engineering Technology Research Center." The company also plans to apply for designation as a provincial-level "Enterprise Technology Engineering Research Center."

The company currently holds over 20 patents of various types and boasts more than 20 highly skilled technical professionals, accounting for approximately 18% of its total workforce. Currently, it is planning to participate in the development of two local standards for Hunan Province, collaborate on one key provincial-level R&D project, and join a municipal-level innovation team.

Its new product, the "Architectural Reflective Thermal Insulation Coating," won the "Third Prize" in the Huaihua regional competition of "Maker China 2018"; it also received the Excellence Award and the Most Popular Award at the 7th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (Hunan Regional). Additionally, the company's new product, the "Water-based Imitation Marble Paint," earned both the "Hunan Province Innovation & Entrepreneurship Excellence Award" and the "China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition Excellence Award" in 2019.

The company’s patented product, the "High-Weatherability Waterborne Latex Paint," was awarded the "Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Invention Award" in 2019. It is now sold across more than 10 provinces nationwide, with major clients including well-known enterprises such as Country Garden, Evergrande, Wanda, China Resources Land, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Nantong Xinhua, Auhai, and Far East Housing Industry Group. Remarkably, sales have grown steadily for the past 10 consecutive years.

Liu Jianxue, Chairman of the company, stated, "Kangrui will seize this opportunity—establishing a platform for industry-academia-research collaboration with Hunan Normal University and Huaihua College—to stay proactive, work diligently, and step up our R&D efforts, thereby helping the architectural coatings industry reach a new milestone."
